Merry Christmas Greetings: 'Christmas enriches our lives with the eternal spirit of love and compassion'

Christmas is an occasion to spread the message of love, peace, compassion and tolerance beyond boundaries and religious affinities.

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Govindas Konthoujam has extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Christmas.

Lord Jesus who did many sacrifices for the oppressed and the downtrodden, teaches us 'to love God', 'to love your neighbour as yourself', 'Forgive others who have wronged you', 'to love your enemies', 'to ask God for forgiveness of our sins 'to give us strength' etc. Let the birthday of Jesus Christ help spread the message of sacrifice, love, tolerance and peace for the peaceful existence of human beings. Merry Christmas to all,” Govindas said.

General Officer Commanding Spear Corps extends Christmas greetings

Lieutenant General R P Kalita, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, on behalf of all ranks of the Spear Corps, has extended his warm greetings on Christmas and best wishes on New Year 2021, said a release by PIB (Defence Wing). It said that on the occasion of these festivities, he stressed upon resolving to work together in a spirit of harmony and friendship to usher in progress and development so as to create a brighter and better tomorrow. May the Christmas festival and dawn of the New Year bring plenty of happiness, peace, good health, progress and prosperity. Let happiness blossom and peace prevail in the year 2021, the release added.

ATSUM wishes for people’s unity, harmony on Christmas

The All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state and to all the members of Christian fraternity on the auspicious occasion of Christmas. 

A message by information and publicity secretary ATSUM Khaiminlen Doungel stated that Christmas is an occasion to spread the message of love, peace, compassion and tolerance beyond boundaries and religious affinities. The life of Jesus Christ taught people the message of love, peace and compassion to the entire mankind.

The union wishes for a renewal of people's commitment to work together in harmony with the advent of Christmas and that the festival instil the spirit of brotherhood between different communities in the state, it added.
