Making efforts to bring change in society, especially among the youth in Tamenglong district of Manipur, and to encourage budding talent, the 44 Assam Rifles presented musical instruments to the Zeliangrong Baptist Church Tamenglong ahead of Christmas Day.

The Commandant along with his family members and all officers and jawans of the 44 AR visited the Zeliangrong Baptist Church Tamenglong, which comes under the Baptist Churches of Union of India, on Wednesday and conveyed their best wishes for Christmas celebrations.

Speaking at the gathering, Commandant of 44 AR, CoL Pradeep Kumar said that Tamenglong Battalion provided the musical instruments to the Zeliangrong Baptist Church Tamenglong under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme for the year 2020-21.

The aim of gifting the musical instrument to ZBC is to provide requisite infrastructure and a platform for the youth of Tamenglong to showcase their talents, Col Pradeep Kumar said.

It may be pointed out that Christmas is a time of giving, sharing and rejoicing and the AR Civic Action Programme during this time of the year is in tune with the spirit of Christmas.

In view of the need for change in people's mindset to bring in much-needed change as the year 2020 comes to a close, the Commandant urged all the youths to learn music while stating that good music can change the minds of people.

President of Zeliangrong Baptist Church Youth Fellowship, Philemon Daimai expressed his sincere gratitude to the 44 AR, Tamenglong battalion.
