Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh has condoled the the death of senior journalist M Modhumangol terming him a good journalist and a good man.
Modhumangol passed away at his residence on June 5.
"On his demise the state and media fraternity has lost a good journalist and a good man, it said. “I convey my deepest condolence and share grief with the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace in God's heavenly abode,” Biren said in his condolence meaasage.
Modhumangol was a founding member of All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) and Manipur Press Club, Biren stated. He also served as vice-president and general secretary of All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU), the condolence message said.
Modhumangol was a senior journalist and former editor of 'Panthou', a Manipuri daily. Apart from being a journalist, he was a political and social activist, it added.
