Acknowledging the dedication rendered by legendary guitarist late W Samson, the Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) observed floral tribute ceremony at Wahengbam Leikai Yumjao Lairembi Community Hall on Sunday.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of the function, general secretary of AMMIK, Mayengbam Dhananjoy Singh said that late W Samsom played an important role in promotion of Manipuri songs during his lifetime. His untimely demise is an irreparable loss to the Manipuri music, he said.
The AMMIK general secretary further said that recognising his contributions, AMMIK has observed the floral tribute ceremony.
“Though his soul has departed from us, his dedication and contribution in promoting Manipur will make him eternal,” Dhananjoy said.
