A programme on career guidance and weapon display was conducted by Churachandpur Battalion of Assam Rifles, followed by felicitation of more than 120 NCC cadres of Rayburn collage on Friday at Rayburn auditorium located at Hebron veng, Churachandpur.
During the programme, the AR officers recalled the victory of India in the second Indo-Pak war in 1971, which is now celebrated as Vijay Diwas on December 16.
The event was organised to remember and inculcate a sense of nationalism to the budding cadre of NCC about Vijay Diwas or Bangladesh Liberation War. Various weapons were displayed amidst the military band playing the tune of martyrs.
One army officer also exhorted the NCC cadres to join defence and paramilitary forces of the country.
A social media group, with the nodal officer, school faculties, NCC faculties and local student organisations, was also created during the programme.
