The widening of a three-km stretch of the Mini Secretariat road in Tamenglong HQ has begun as the district administration plans to shift all government offices to the Mini Secretariat complex by January 2021.
Chief Minister N Biren is likely to hold a meeting in the Mini Secretariat complex and make it functional during his visit to Tamenglong next month.
Former Union Minister P Chidambaram in 2011 during the Congress regime had constructed and inaugurated the mini secretariat complex of Tamenglong before completion. The incomplete building was left abandoned nearly 10 years ago. Many civil organisations appealed to the deputy commissioner of Tamenglong to shift all government offices to the secretariat complex.
Recently, the current deputy commissioner of Tamenglong, Armstrong Pame got the mini-secretariat repaired to shift all government offices and make it functional by next month.
Meanwhile, Pame has called upon all landowners, property owners and standing property owners to put forth their claims and objections at the meeting to be held on December 21 at 2 pm at the conference hall of DC Tamenglong. If no claims are received, the required road widening of the road, which is 40/45 feet in width, will be continued, he added.
