Nagaland's COVID-19 tally mounts to 11,832 with 12 new positive cases

The number of active cases in Nagaland now stood at 554.

Nagaland's COVID-19 tally on Friday increased to 11,832 with 12 new positive cases, while the number of recoveries in the state surged to 11,076 as five more patients recovered from the viral infection, official sources said.

Taking to Twitter, Nagaland Health Minister S Panyu Phom said that the new positive cases included 10 from Kohima and Mokokchung, while the five new recoveries were from Kohima.

The number of active cases in Nagaland now stood at 554.

"Update! 12 +ve cases of # COVID-19 have detected today. Kohima- 10,  Mokokchung- 2. Also, 5 +ve patients have recovered from Kohima. Total +ve cases- 11832 Recovered- 11076 Active Cases- 554 Wear Mask, Keep Distance, Stay Safe," Phom tweeted on Friday evening.

Nagaland has so far recorded 63 deaths, of which 10 deaths are not related to COVID-19 and 129 cases have migrated to other states, according to the state health department.

On Thursday, Nagaland recorded 33 new positive cases and 76 recoveries.
