"Christmas season greetings to you all. May this Christmas season be filled with love, joy and peace. Wishing everyone a merry and joyous celebration. God Bless all," the leader of Opposition in Nagaland said in a tweet, attaching his greeting message.

Extending his greetings, the former CM urged the people of the state to forgive one another and prayed that love, reconciliation and brotherhood be the symbol of the Christmas celebration.

Zeliang also urged the people to continue praying for the Lord’s sanction to work out everything in the best way possible as the Naga people wait for the conclusion of the Indo-Naga Political issue.

"As Christians, we all take profound pleasure in celebrating the birth and glory of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. Christmas season is a nostalgic time of joy, peace and happiness as it reminds us of the great love of our Lord. This Christmas season let us forgive each other and let love, reconciliation and brotherhood be the symbol of our Christmas celebration. As we wait for conclusion of the Indo-Naga Political issue, let us continue to pray for the Lord’s sanction to work out everything in the best way possible," Zeliang said in his message.

The former CM also hopes and prays that the promise of peace and hope for the future that comes with Christmas be ignited in everyone even as the year 2020 has witnessed unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Against a backdrop filled with pain, loss and suffering; we will be celebrating Christmas which may be unlike any we have ever experienced. However, hard times have a way of bringing out the best in people and this Christmas season, I earnestly hope and pray that the promise of peace and hope for the future that comes with Christmas be ignited in everyone," the former CM said, while wishing all the citizens of Nagaland a blessed and meaningful Christmas and a prosperous happy New Year 2021.
