The State Disaster Response Team on Monday conducted a mock exercise on the earthquake near Apollo Ground, Tamenglong ward no. 1.
The programme was attended by deputy commissioner of Tamenglong, Armstrong Pame; sub-par divisional officer, Mahesh Chaudhari; chief medical officer, Dr Chambo Gonmei; and DRDA project officer, Acham Kamei.
Speaking to the media, sub team commander of Department of Relief and Disaster Management, Okram Achaoba Singh said that the mock exercise on earthquake will cover all districts of the state as Manipur is among the earthquake prone zones. He also said that Tamenglong is the 11th district that had been covered by the team after Chandel district.
He further said that during disasters like earthquakes, the fire service, medical team and rescue team should work together to save people.
