5,02214 people screened for Coronavirus in Manipur
Of the total number of people tested for Coronavirus in Manipur, 27,209 have been confirmed with the virus infection as of Monday.
In Manipur, a total of 5,02,214 people have been screened for Coronavirus and 4,54,148 sample test results received so far. A total of 1,620 test results were received on Monday. Of the cumulative samples tested, 27,209 have been confirmed positive for the virus infection and 324 patients died so far, according to the latest update by the state health department.
In the past 24 hours, two persons aged 76 years and 55 years old males from Imphal West died at Shija Hospital and JNIMS Hospital respectively. And, 53 persons from the general population and one personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases, a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The positive cases from the general population included 17 from Imphal West, 14 from Imphal East, five from Thoubal, one from Bishnupur, one from Kakching, four from Ukhrul, seven from Tamenglong and two each from Chandel and Churachandpur, the release added.
All the new positive cases are locals without any significant travel history, the release stated. It stated that all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
Meanwhile, 152 patients, including 95 from home isolation, recovered and were discharged on Monday. The cumulative number of recovered cases, after reconciliation with the reports of IDSP, is 24,739 (General Population – 21,647 and Central Security Personnel – 3,092). The recovery rate is now 90.92 per cent, the release stated.
The release also stated that a cumulative number of positive cases included 23,904 from the General Population and 3,305 Central Security Personnel.
The number of active cases, after reconciliation with the reports of IDSP, is 2,146 (General Population - 1.937 and Central Security Personnel 209).
The state health department in the release has advised the public to dial 104 – Manipur Mental Health Helpline (9 am to 9 pm), for mental wellbeing. If you were in contact with a positive case, immediately self-isolate and contact COVID-19 Common Control Room or the district Chief Medical Officer for testing, it added.
