The Zillai Meritorious Awards 2020 was held on Saturday by Zillai (Vaiphei Student Association) GHQ at Vaiphei Community Centre, Churachandpur district.
As DGP of the state could not attend the programme as chief guest, the awards were handed out by principal of Moreh College, SL Lianzapau Vaiphei and president of VPC, Khatkhotong Baite as functional president and chief host respectively.
During the award function, Douminlun Singsit and Zareth Lhunthanglian were awarded cash amount of Rs 10,000 and a certificate each for securing high marks in Class-X under BOSEM and CBSE respectively.
For Class-XII (Arts), Kimngaihlhing and SL Hathdoilian Vaiphei were awarded the same cash amount with a certificate each for being top scorers under COHSEM and CBSE respectively.
Margaret Baite and Nengneilam Baite were also awarded cash amount of Rs 10,000 and a certificate each for scoring high marks in Class-XII (Science) under COHSEM and CBSE respectively.
Issac Paulallungmuan Vaiphei, who cleared his Class-X examination under BOSEM with first division at the age of 12, was presented with Zillai Outstanding Achievement Award.
