“According to the latest census reports, the gender birth rate of male per female is 1,000 per 757. Every parent gives more importance to baby boys than girls and this is gender-based violence. So far, 134 cases of violence against women for the year 2020 are registered,” Sobita said.

Nobokishor said that during the period of British rule, women took a great role to safeguard the human rights and integrity of the state. To get every right of women, there must be proper functioning of court, police station and medical facility, he stated. If there is any violence against women, one can contact the human rights organisation, he added.
