Manipur Left parties support Bharat bandh called by farmers organisations
Farmers organisations have been carrying out massive agitations against the new farm laws.
The Manipur Left parties comprising the Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Revolutionary Socialist Party and All India Forward Bloc have given their support to the Bharat Bandh called by Kisan Organisations on December 8.
A joint release by the left parties has stated that they extend their solidarity and support to the ongoing massive agitation by Kisan organisations from all over the country against the new Agri laws-Farmer’s Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill 2020 and The Essential Commodities Bill (Amendment) 2020.
“The left parties have condemned the RSS/BJP’s malicious campaign on preposterous charges against the struggle of our ‘annadatas’ to safeguard Indian agriculture and the country’s food security,” the release said.
The left parties support the demand of Kisan organisations for scrapping of the three Agri laws and the Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2020, it added.
In the release, the left parties have appealed to all other political parties and forces to stand with the farmers’ cause and demanded the repeal of the laws to extend their support and cooperation to the bandh on December 8
