COVID-19 recovery rate in Manipur improved to 87.36 per cent as 273 more patients were discharged in a span of 24 hours, the state health department said on Friday.
The cumulative number of recovered cases in the state as of Friday is 22,445 (General Population - 19,532 and Central Security Personnel 2,913), according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The state health department said that a total of 150 more persons, including five Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, pushing the state's confirmed tally to 25,.691 (General Population - 22,545 and Central Security Personnel 3,146).
Of the new positive cases from the general population, Imphal West recorded 46 cases, Imphal East - 42, Thoubal - 3, Bishnupur - 11, Kakching - 11, Ukhrul - 7, Tamenglong - 14, Senapati - 1, Kangpokpi - 6, Churachandpur - 5, Jiribam - 2 and Chandel - 2. the release stated.
All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
Meanwhile, the death mounted to 295 after a 62-year-old male from Thoubal died at JNIMS Hospital on Friday and the number of active cases in the state stood at 2,951 (General Population - 2,722 and Central Security Personnel - 229).
The cumulative number of patients under home isolation also increased to 7,261, of which 6,6068 patients have recovered from COVID-19 while 884 are active, the state health department said.
It further advised those in contact with a COVID-19 positive person to isolate themselves. In case of emergency, one can dial 24x7 Covid Common Control Room Number-1800-345-3818.
