COVID-19 cases in Mizoram rise to 42 as eight more test positive

On Sunday, a total of 244 samples were tested for COVID-19, of which eight have come out as positive, the DIPR said.

Mizoram on Monday reported eight new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 42, official sources said.

The new cases, five females and three males, were confirmed at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) on Sunday night, DIPR Mizoram tweeted on Monday.

On Sunday, a total of 244 samples were tested for COVID-19, of which eight have come out as positive, the DIPR said.

Of them, five are from Champhai district, two from Khawzawl district and one from Siaha district it added.

All the patients, aged between 21-30, have recently returned to the state from Delhi and have been placed under quarantine, the DIPR said. 
They were asymptomatic, it added.

Of the total 42 cases reported so far, 41 cases are active while one patient has recovered.
