COVID-19 in Meghalaya: Three more test positive; total 36

Of the total 36 positive cases reported so far, 22 are active cases while 13 have recovered and one succumbed to the disease.

Meghalaya on Sunday reported three new COVID-19 cases after returnees from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu tested positive for the virus, taking the total positive cases in the state to 36, official sources said.

Taking to Twitter, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that of the three new cases, one is a Tamil Nadu returnee while the other two had recently returned to the state from Maharashtra.

“Two more residents who came from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID19. Both of them under quarantine in East Khasi Hills District,” Sangma tweeted on Sunday evening.

Earlier in the day, one Maharashtra returnee tested positive for COVID-19.

The three new cases are under quarantine in East Khasi Hills District, Sangma informed.

Of the total 36 positive cases reported so far, 22 cases are active while 13 patients have recovered. Meghalaya has recorded one COVID-19 death, the CM informed.
