Meritorious students of Thoubal felicitated

As a part of the programme, awards were given to students residing at Irong till Khelakhong area in Thoubal district, for scoring high marks at the Class X and XII examinations 2019-2020 conducted by BOSEM and COHSEM, respectively.

Junet Zakah Foundation Manipur organised a Career Guidance and Counseling Programme cum Award Distribution Ceremony at Khelakhong Konjil High Madrassa, Thoubal district on Sunday.

As a part of the programme, awards were given to students residing at Irong till Khelakhong area in Thoubal district, for scoring high marks at the Class X and XII examinations 2019-2020 conducted by BOSEM and COHSEM, respectively.

The programme was attended by director of Junet Zakah Foundation, Md Nashimuddin; principal of DM College of Science, Raheijuddin Sheikh; director of MS Creative School Kwakta, Md Nasir Khan; and director of Global Education and Techno-World Manipur, Jenat Syed.

In his speech, Md Nashimuddin stressed on the objective of Junet Zakah Foundation Manipur as helping students from financially weak families in their studies so that they get the best out of education and become successful in life. He also said the foundation will give cash award of Rs 1 lakh each to those individuals residing at Irong till Sekmaijin area when they clear the civil service examination and Rs 50,000 each to the students when they cracked the NEET in future.

Representatives of various local clubs and founders of different schools in the region also attended the programme.

Meanwhile, the Annual 6th Meritorious Award Ceremony was held on Sunday at Thoubal Okram, organised by councilor of Thoubal Municipal Council ward no.1, Okram Inaotombi Devi.

During the ceremony, 17 meritorious students from Thoubal Municipal Council ward no.1 were felicitated with gifts for scoring high marks at the examinations conducted by COHSEM, BOSEM and CBSE.  

Inaotombi also distributed blankets to the elderly persons at the occasion. As a part of the function, 11 disabled persons were also given the ‘differently abled certificates’, besides giving away gifts to two artists.

Later, the deputy commissioner of Thoubal handed out an appreciation certificate to the Thoubal Kendra COVID-19 Aid Committee, followed by a presentation of gifts to the volunteers of People for Animals for their noble service.
