Sudhir Naoroibam conferred with Manipur State Award For Literature

Naoroibam bagged the award for his book “Asengba Yum Amasung Atei Warising”, a collection of 12 (twelve) short stories published in the year 2018.

Manipur Education Minister S Rajen Singh on Saturday presented the Manipur State Award For Literature 2019-2020 to Sudhir Naoroibam. The award presentation ceremony was held at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA), Imphal.

Naoroibam bagged the award for his book “Asengba Yum Amasung Atei Warising”, a collection of 12 (twelve) short stories published in the year 2018. This year’s award comprises Memento, Citation, Shawl and Rs 3 lakh.

Sudhir Naoroibam hails from Oinam in Bishnupur district. He is one of the noted contemporary fiction, screenplay and script writers of Manipur and is also a recipient of several literary awards, including the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2003.

Commissioner, Education (S) T Ranjit Singh, IAS; Director, Language Planning and Implementation Th Chitra Devi; Officials of Language department, Education department, writers community, officials and teachers from Manipur University among others attended the ceremony.
