Broken family leads to disintegration of society: Nemcha Kipgen

MLA of Kangpokpi assembly constituency, Nemcha Kipgen on Saturday said a broken family or tribe leads to disintegration of a society which can cause extreme disaster in development, and peace and harmony.

Kipgen made the remark during the first assembly cum general conference of Guite Phungpi Organisation (GPO), Kangpokpi Branch at L Thomjang village held under the theme ‘Put Your House in Order’ based on 2 Kings 20:1.

After hoisting the flag, the local MLA, who has provided proper road connectivity to the hilly villages including L Thomjang village under PMGSY scheme, greeted the Guite family on the auspicious occasion of the GPO Kangpokpi Branch.

"When you put your house in order it will not benefit only the family members within the house but the society as a whole,” Nemcha said.

The MLA also strongly emphasised on the importance of COVID awareness among the masses while attending the assembly cum general conference.

"Self discipline, self prevention and adhering to SOPs is the best tool to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic which claimed more than 200 lives in the state alone and infected in terms of thousands,” asserted Nemcha.

She exhorted the people to take extreme precautions and adhere to the guidelines provided by the government and medical experts especially during the winter season with more concern for the children and aged people.
The assembly cum general conference was attended by Guite Bulpipa Lamjangpa (head of Guite), Pauminthang Guite; GPO GHQs president, Ngamthang Guite; chief advisor of GPO GHQs, Haokholen Guite; Guite genealogy in-charge, Lutthang Guite; and auditor of GPO Kangpokpi Branch, Haosei Guite and other leaders.

Earlier, in the morning the GPO assembly cum general conference monolith was unveiled by head of Guite while it was dedicated by Pastor Hemthong Guite, who is also the vice-president of GPO GHQs.

The programme was held by maintaining strict SOPs where only few prominent leaders of GPO GHQs and Kangpokpi Branch attended, apart from a few artistes and cultural troupe.
