The clearance of mud on the road, which was held from 7 am to 10 am, is a part of the "One Activity One month" programme.

Kakching is popularly known as the granary of Manipur. Harvesting or farming activities often leave behind heaps of mud unattended on the road, causing inconvenience for the commuters. In view of it, locals in the area conduct cleaning of the road every year.

Hence, the objective of the Saturday mud cleaning programme was to give awareness to the farmers and tractor/truck drivers/owners that the muds left unattended on the road after the harvesting creates a lot of difficulties to passers-by. It even results in loss of commuters’ lives.

Speaking on the sidelines of the road mud cleaning programme, the secretary of the 1984 Matric Batch,  Songaijam Manihar said, “It is a great achievement on the part of the Matric Batch to be able to carry out such a social activity when it's the peak time of the harvesting season and such activity will surely give a big message to the general public and some of the valuable lives will surely be saved with our such activity in the future”.
