India's COVID-19 total caseload crosses 93 lakh; death toll 1,35,715

A total of 492 new COVID-19 fatalities were recorded on Thursday.

India's COVID-19 tally crossed the 93 lakh-mark on Friday after recording 43,082 new cases in a day, according to the Union Health Ministry's latest updates.

The total coronavirus cases, as per the Health Ministry's data, is 93,09,787 and the death toll mounted to 1,345,715 with 492 new fatalities, including 91 from Delhi alone.

While the number of active cases of coronavirus infection in the country as on date is 4,55,555, the number of recoveries stood at 87,18 ,517. The national recovery rate is 93.65 per cent.

So far a total of 13,70,62,749 samples have been tested for COVID-19 across the country. Of these, 11,31,204 samples were tested on Thursday.

Delhi reported 5,475 new COVID-19 cases and 91 deaths in a span of a day, pushing the total death toll in the national capital to 8,811, The total COVID count in Delhi is now 5,51,262, including 38,734 active cases and 5,03,717recoveries.

Maharashtra with 18,02,3656 confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to be the worst coronavirus affected state in the country. As many as 6,406 new COVID-19 cases,  4,815 recoveries, and 65 deaths were reported in the state on Thursday. While there are 87,014 active cases in the state, a total of 16,68,538 patients have recovered so far. The death toll has mounted to 46,813.
