Assam Rifles apprehend two drug smugglers

About 832 grams of heroin was seized along with two Myanmar made Kenbo bikes and a cash of Rs 6,220.

Churachandpur Battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended two drug smugglers during an operation in the general area of Khaukhui River.

According to a source from Churachandpur police, the apprehended persons were identified as Mung, 34, son of Selchinglung of Saiton village and Haueu Haokip, 26, son of Ngulmung of T Leisang of Chanpikorong.

About 832 grams of heroin was seized along with two Myanmar made Kenbo bikes and a cash of Rs 6,220.

The apprehended smugglers have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station on Saturday along with the seized items. An FIR was also registered, the source added.
