Psychological support helpline for frontline workers in Manipur
Director, health services, K Rajo on Friday said the dedicated psychological support Helpline numbers for the frontline workers are 8787457035 and 9402751364.
Acknowledging the services rendered by frontline workers and the enormous physical and psychological strain they faced at work during this period of COVID-19 crisis, the State Psychological Support team of COVID-19 management, Manipur has launched a dedicated psychological support helpline for front-line workers in the state.
According to a memorandum issued by director, health services, K Rajo on Friday, the dedicated psychological support Helpline numbers for the frontline workers are 8787457035 and 9402751364.
It informed that mental health professionals will be available 24x7 to extend help to the frontline workers in coping with the stress and anxiety of working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and provide time and space to seek help before they reach a crisis point.
“Frontline workers (doctors, nurses, paramedics, truck/bus drivers, police and media personnels, sanitation workers, all volunteers etc.) are integral to the global response to COVID-19 pandemic,” it said.
While noting that frontline workers are taking on significant personal risk and working tirelessly to ensure people can receive the care they need, the memorandum continued that expanding the support provided to frontline workers for responding to this crisis is a priority.
It may be mentioned here that the state psychological support team of COVID-19 management, Manipur has been putting the state psychological support helpline into operation for the general public through the contact number, 18003453818 of COVID-19 common control room since March 26.
