Manipur government announces cash award for police personnel

Thoubal Police to be awarded Rs 20 lakh and another 10 lakh will be awarded to Bishnupur Police

The state government has announced an award of cash reward of Rs 20 lakh to the Thoubal district police and 10 lakh to Bishnupur district police in recognition of their outstanding achievement.

Joint secretary Home, Rehanuddin Choudhury stated in a release on Wednesday the cash reward for Thoubal district police will be awarded in recognition of their achievement for seizure of 435.945 kg of brown sugar and 438 litres of morphinated liquid from the residence of Kayamuddin @ Amuthi Habibur Rahman of Thoubal Moijing Awang Leikai on October 29.(FIR Case No. 138(10)2020 TBL PS U/S 17(c)21(c)/29/60(3) ND & PS Act)

 The release stated that  the cash reward  for Thoubal includes  50 officers and personnel (superintendent of police, two additional superintendent of police, two inspectors, three sub inspectors and one assistant sub inspectors and other ranks.

The release added that the state government has also announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh to 44 officers and personnel of Bishnupur district police in recognition of their outstanding achievement for seizure of approximately 74 kg of brown sugar from a Chevrolet car (parrot green in colour) at Khordak Ichin near Iron bridge under Keibul Lamjao Police station and from a house in Mayang Imphal Bengoon under Mayang Imphal Police station October 10. The cash rewards covers the district superintendent of police, an additional superintendent of police,  Subedar, two sub inspectors , two assistant sub inspectors and other ranks of the district police
