Kakching shopkeepers warned against selling goods above government rates

KDTF said it will take appropriate legal action against erring shopkeepers

​Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kakching District Task Force (KDTF) ​has warned ​shopkeepers​ against ​selling goods above the price listed by the state government in Kakching district​, saying strict action will be taken against erring shop owners​.

It is unfortunate that many shops are selling goods at prices ​higher ​than the ​ones listed by the government when the whole state, especially the daily bread earners, are facing ​hardship during ​the COVID-19​ pandemic​, KDTF ​said ​in a release.

Pointing out that some people are delivering psychotropic drugs and liquor at different localities, it said that the KDTF will find out the ​culprit soon and take appropriate legal action​ against them​.

The district task force also ordered all the shops in Kakching district to display the price list of the goods ​in ​their respective shops.

The release stated that under the supervision of the task force, a new association “Irengband Development Association” was formed on Monday.​ The association consist of eight local clubs of Kakching district ​- ESCO, MYUC, HACO, JAMA, IYC, SWC, JSLDO and AIFA​, it added.​
