COVID-19 confirmed caseload rises above 22000 mark in Manipur

COVID-19 death toll reached 224 as three more died of the illness in Manipur on Monday

Three more patients died of COVID-19 while new positive cases fell below 200 at 178 and no new cases among security personnel were reported, the state health department said.

As per the latest release from the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, the three new fatalities pushed the death toll to 224 and the confirmed tally rose to 22,049, including 2993 active cases. Two victims are from Imphal West while one is from Churachandpur, it stated.

The new positive cases included 69 from Imphal West, 46 from Imphal east, eight from Thoubal, nine from Bishnupur, 19 from Kakching, eight from Tamenglong, six from Churachandpur, two from Noney, one from Tengnoupal, nine from Chandel and one from Senapati, the release stated.

Meanwhile, 239 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. With it, 18,832 patients have recovered so far, the release stated, adding that the recovery rate is now 85.40 per cent.

Those who are in contact with a COVID-19 positive person have been advised to isolate themselves. Contact Covid Control Room or CMO for testing, the health department stated.
