New Lamka Football Meet 2020 ends
The winning team received a cheque of Rs 20,000 with a trophy and a certificate.
The New Lamka Football Meet 2020 organised by New Lamka Youth Club (NLYC) concluded on Saturday with NTSMT defeating Zapya FC by 2-0 in the final match. The winning team received a cheque of Rs 20,000 with a trophy and a certificate.
The two-week-long football tournament started on October 31 at PT Sports Complex located at New Lamka. The tournament was participated by 15 teams and 28 matches were played in which Lamthialal from VASA FC scored highest with 12 goals.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by minister of Tribals Affairs and Hills, Vungzagin Valte as chief guest. While lauding the organiser of the football tournament, the minister said that as a resident of New Lamka himself he is proud to be the chief guest. He also assured that he will extend help to improve the PT Sports Complex and the driving school run by NLYC at the complex.
AGM of NABARD, G Thangchinkhup also attended the closing ceremony as functional president. He spoke on the importance of sports and regular exercise which boost the immune system particularly in the present time of COVID-19 pandemic.
