Eviction drive along Moreh ICP Bypass road continues

All the compensated structures and illegally constructed structures were demolished and removed from Shijang Veng to T Tonglhang section of the proposed Bypass road by using five excavators.

The eviction drive along Moreh ICP Bypass road continued on Friday in the presence of Tengnoupal DC.

All the compensated structures and illegally constructed structures were demolished and removed from Shijang Veng to T Tonglhang section of the proposed Bypass road by using five excavators.

On Friday, there were no protesters present at the time of eviction.

SP Tengnoupal Th Vikramjit, Addl SP(Ops) M Amit, Addl SP (L&O) Sangboi Gangte, Moreh ADC L Manikanta,  SDO Moreh I Dineshkumar,  SDC Moreh L Brojendra, OC Moreh P/S Kh Dilipkumar, and 2nd OC Moreh police station L Premjit, OC of CDO Moreh and a large police force was also present during the eviction. However, no unwanted incidents occurred on Friday and the eviction was carried out peacefully.

After the huge confrontation between protesters and police personnel on Thursday, IG Clay Khongsai and DIG Kabiv personally stationed at Moreh town to take stock of the situation.

After the eviction of illegal structures, DC Tengnoupal had instructed the concerned department to take up the process of NH expansion at the earliest as the construction of the road is a timebound project of the Government of India.
