MoU to be signed for promotion of Manipur’s medicinal plants

Chief executive officer and member secretary of Manipur Medicinal Plants Board Dr A Guneshwor Sharma said a road map of the contract which is going to be signed with X5 AGROTECH FPC Ltd Hyderabad will be ready within November.

Directorate of AYUSH, Manipur is set to sign a memorandum of understanding with X5 AGROTECH FPC Ltd Hyderabad to promote medicinal and aromatic plants available in the state.

Chief executive officer and member secretary of Manipur Medicinal Plants Board Dr A Guneshwor Sharma informed the same during a press conference held at its office on Wednesday.

Guneshwor said that the availability of high value medicinal and aromatic plants in the state has attracted many outside companies. Many MoUs have also been signed before with different companies and firms to increase plantation and productions of such plants, he said.

He stated that a road map of the contract which is going to be signed with X5 AGROTECH FPC Ltd Hyderabad will be ready within this month. After that MoU will be signed, he added.

Chief executive officer, X5 AGROTECH FPC Ltd Hyderabad, Pradeep Singh Sekhawat said that the soil of Manipur is suitable to grow aromatic and medicinal plants. The quality of the products is also very high. As such the company is ready to buy all such products from Manipur, he stated.

Chief operating officer, X5 AGROTECH FPC Ltd Hyderabad, Adarsh Jain and head crop manager of the company, Abhishek Singh were also present during the press meet.
