Fuel Price Hike: Petrol, diesel to be costlier in Nagaland

The new rates of fuel will be effective from midnight of November 11.

Fuel prices in Nagaland have been revised from the existing rates on Wednesday by the state government.

The tax rate on diesel has been enhanced from 14.5 per cent to 17.50 per cent (Rs.11.08 per litre), whichever is higher, while the tax rate on petrol and other motor spirit has been enhanced from 25 per cent to 29.80 per cent (Rs 18.26 per litre) whichever is higher, according to a notification issued by the   Additional Chief Secretary and Finance Commissioner Sentiyanger Imchen said in a statement.

The new rates of fuel will be effective from midnight of November 11.

This was done in the exercise of power conferred by sub section 3 of Section 3A of the Nagaland (Sale of Petroleum and Petroleum Products including Motor Spirit and Lubricants) Taxation Act, 1967 (as amended), it added.
