Assam's COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 96.69 per cent

The number of recovered cases in the state as of Tuesday was 2,02,468.

The recovery rate of COVID-19 cases in Assam has improved to 96.69 per cent with the discharge of 629 more patients from the hospital on Tuesday, state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a tweet.

The number of recovered cases in the state as of Tuesday was 2,02,468, as per the update posted by the health minister on Twitter.

Till Tuesday, Assam registered a total of 2,09,388 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 271 new cases.

The new cases are among the  25,339 tests conducted on Tuesday, Sarma said.

"271 Cases detected out of 25,339 tests conducted today, with a positivity rate of 1.07%. Kamrup Metro- 56. 629 patients discharged," Sarma tweeted on Tuesday night.

The viral infection had claimed five more lives in the state on Tuesday, pushing the state’s death toll to 952.
