Khaipau Haokip, who is also the former chairman, was on Monday elected as the new ADCC chairman.

Two candidates, namely Khaipau Haokip and Hausuanthang had filed nominations for the election of the new ADCC chairman.

Former chairman Langkhanpau Guite presided the election which was held at ADC Bhavan, Chingmeirong, Imphal on Monday.

The candidature of Hausuanthang was proposed by MDC Khaikhomang and MDC Lalthrilien while the candidature of Khaipau Haokip was proposed by MDC Genneikhup and MDC Gouzamang Guite.

During the election at ADC Bhavan, Chingmeirong, 16 ADCC members attended where Khaipau Haokip got 12 votes while his opponent got four votes.
