The total number of home isolation cases in Manipur reached 4,414, of which 1,015 are active cases and 3,399 recovered cases and the recovery rate improved to 83.95 per cent, the state health department said.
Manipur's COVID-19 tally rose to 20,558 after 182 more persons, including four Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel were confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus and the death toll reached 198 on Monday as one person from Imphal West died due to COVID-19 at Shija Hospital, a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The positive cases from general population are 85 from Imphal West, 38 from Imphal East, 20 from Tamenglong, 11 from Thoubal, seven from Bishnupur, four each from Ukhrul and Jiribam, three from Churachandpur, two from Chandel and one each from Pherzawl, Kakching, Kangpokpi and Senapati.
All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.
Meanwhile, a total of 187 persons were discharged on Monday, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 17,259 while the cumulative number of active cases is 3,101, the release added.
In view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the state, a weekly media briefing on Covid-19 is being held at the Directorate of Health Services since November 6 to facilitate effective communication between the Health Department and the public.
Those who are in contact with a COVID-19 positive person have been advised to isolate themselves. Contact Covid Control Room or CMO for testing, the health department stated.
