The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur rose to 132 as eight more people tested positive for the virus, the state health department said on Friday.
The eight new cases were confirmed at the Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratories (VRDL) of JNIMS, Imphal. Of them, Kamjong district reported four cases, two males and two females, who recently returned from Mumbai, Imphal West and Ukhrul districts reported two cases each and are Delhi returnees. The other two cases are Deoband and Bengaluru returnees from Jiribam and Imphal West districts, respectively, state health department spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said in a release.
Of the total 132 COVID-19 positive cases reported in the state, 91 cases are active, the health department said.
The total number of recovery cases increased to 41 as three more patients, one male and two females, were discharged from RIMS, Imphal after they tested negative for COVID-19 on Friday, it added.
The state health department also appealed to all passengers returning to the state by train to submit their travel history details such as dates, place of origin, train name, coach number, seat number, including the bus number from Jiribam to Imphal, to the in charge of their quarantine centres.
On Thursday, 16 new COVID-19 cases were reported from different districts of the state, taking the number of COVID-19 positive cases to 124.
