However, the Youth Affairs & Sports, Manipur while the appreciating the effort of AMFA unique role in developing football felt that in such critical hour of Covid 19 pandemic, it was of the opinion that without observing proper procotocol of Covid 19, it will be unsafe for the organisers, clubs and players alike in greater risk.

The Department of Youth Affairs & Sports in a statement said that the AMFA decision was made without consulting the stakeholders or seeking any specific permission from the government to hold the Football League.

The statement also mentioned that the AIFF had issued a number of protocol(SOP) to be followed including Bio-Bubble facility for players participating in league or tournaments, players transportation, training session etc and given the present Covid 19 position in the state, the state government is of the belief that AMFA cannot easily followed such compliance and hence the government feels and request AMFA to 14th Manipur State League and Women's League for the time being.
