‘Tussle within district council will not be tolerated’

The ‘Joint Student Bodies Churachandpur’ has expressed shock at the action of the members of Autonomous District Council Churachandpur and stated the ongoing tussle within the district council amid the COVID-19 pandemic is totally uncalled for and will not be tolerated.

The intermittent fight for upper hand in controlling the council among MDCs is construed as a greed for manipulating the system to their respective advantage deterring the rationale behind their position, said a joint statement issued by Zomi Students’ Federation General Headquarters (ZSF), Kuki Students’ Organisation Churachandpur (KSO CCP), Hmar Students’ Association Joint Headquarters (HSA jt HQ) Churachandpur and Mizo Zirlai  Pawl (MZP) Headquarters Manipur.

“We all fail to comprehend their interest as a grass root representative as the frequent power tussle had made them dumb and blind to the hue and cry of the general public in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic,” it said.

The Joint Student Bodies, Churachandpur condemned the insensitive approach by the representatives toward COVID-19 pandemic and appeal to the authorities concerned neither to entertain nor give a chance for divisiveness and petty politics at a time when all should be holding hand in the fight against COVID -19 pandemic, it added.
