After 11 long years, under the instruction of the University Authority, the departmental room of late professor Md Islamuddin of Economics department, Manipur University, was re-opened on Tuesday.

The room was opened in the presence of deputy registrar MU, estate officer MU, head of economic MU, security officer MU and some faculty members of the economic department. It has been handed over to the head of department of economics for departmental purposes.

The departmental room was closed after the professor on May, 25, 2009 was gunned down in broad daylight inside the university campus.
