The General Administration department (GAD) has ordered all government offices, educational institutions, private sectors undertakings and other establishments located under Wangoi, Lilong, Wangjing Tentha, Saitu Assembly Constituencies to remain closed on November 7, the day of the by-election.
An order issued by the under secretary of GAD Sunanda Thokchom stated that the order was passed in order to enable the employees to exercise their right of franchise on the day of the by-election.
It also declared that all banks, financial institutes, LICs located within the four Assembly Constituencies will also remain closed on the day of the by-election.
Government employees, bank employees and employees of private sector undertakings and others who are the voters of the four Assembly Constituencies but serving elsewhere are allowed availing special casual leave on the day of by-election, to enable them to exercise their right of franchise, it added.
