Parents Associations, Churachandpur on Wednesday raised objections against online class for students of the Churachandpur District Private School, saying most of them have no smart phones and are daily wage earners. They also informed that they are not in a position to pay their children’s school fees in times of lockdown due to COVID-19.

The Parents Association said that as per an order of the government, online class had been started in some schools but that they are against it. They further stated that it requires good quality phones to take part in the online classes which many cannot afford and many families have three-four school going children.

The parents said that online teaching means many kids cannot do their homework by themselves and require the attention of the parents who are not familiar to the latest technology. Most parents being uneducated, it has caused issues in helping their children, the said.

On the other hand, most parents are daily wage earners and struggle to pay the tuition fees.

They said they support the government’s initiatives as it is their utmost desire to educate their children. However, at the same time, they asked the schools to hear them on behalf of their children, said the parents.
