A class-III student of LM Academy, Lingshiphai village, Ginhoihvung is the daughter of S Genmuanlal and Chingkhaniang of Mata village. During the lockdown, the young girl spent her time on an online course and got a certificate through the initiative of her father. The father is teacher at the private school where she studies.

The online course had to be stopped due to financial constraint as her father stopped getting regular salary since the COVID-19 lockdown in the state.

However, drawn to weaving, which is mostly carried out by adult women among the tribal comunities in Northeast India, Ginhoihvung started helping her grandmother in preparing the yarn. Eventually, her grandmother became her inspiration to carry on the traditional weaving.
