Manipur Police observe Police Commemoration Day

The police organised COVID-19 awareness campaign at Tengnoupal district headquarter and distributed face masks to the public.

As a part of paying tribute to the martyred police personnel of the nation, Tengnoupal District Police observed Police Commemoration Day on Wednesday at Tengnoupal District Head Quarter to pay homage to the ones who had laid down their lives while on duty.

The programme was attended by SP of Tengnoupal district, Th Vikramjit Singh, additional SP (Ops) of Moreh, M Amit Singh, SDPO of Moreh, L Meghabarna, OC of Tengnoupal, John Lamkang and other police personnel of the district.

The district police also organised COVID-19 awareness campaign at Tengnoupal district headquarter and distributed face masks to the public. The police personnel also pledged to adhere with the SOPs to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Police personnel of Machi Police Station and Moreh Police Station also pledged to maintain the SOPs of COVID-19.

In Churachandpur, the Police Commemoration Day was observed at Churachandpur Police Station under the leadership of Churachandpur SP, Amrita Sinha and it was attended by CO of 1st IRB, Lunkhomang Khongsai.

Altogether, 264 names of policemen of the country who had lost their lives while on duty were read out, which included two police personnel from Manipur.

Meanwhile, STC/BSF located at Mualkoi, Churachandpur also observed the day which was led by IGP DK Tripathi. More than 160 officers and others ranks paid homage to the fallen heroes of CAPF and police personnel.
