A joint team of Thoubal police and Bishnupur police arrested a drug peddler from Waithou area, Thoubal district, Manipur on Tuesday.
The arrest along with the seizure of the contraband took place at around 2:45 pm Tuesday, police said.
They said the accused was arrested along with 39 boxes of pills (5,616 pieces), which are suspected to be Spasmo-Proxyvon capsules, with one mobile handset and a mini Tata Ashok Leyland truck bearing registration number TR01/1898 of milky white in colour from Waithou Lipokpi area, Thoubal.
According to the police, the individual was identified as Md Safiullah, 31, son of Md Abdul Nur of Hayel Labuk Maning Leikai, Thoubal district.
The arrested person and seized items are handed over to Thoubal PS for further necessary legal action, the source added.
