Life Savers Manipur begins weeklong blood donation camp at RIMS

The blood donation camp was also a part of national awardee film actress Tonthoi Laishram’s birthday.

In observance of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, Life Savers Manipur organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the department of transfusion medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Science on Saturday.

A release issued by managing director of Life Savers Manipur, K Padmakumar Sharma stated that the blood donation camp was also a part of national awardee film actress Tonthoi Laishram’s birthday.

It added that the blood donation camp will continue for one week from 10 in the morning till 1 in the afternoon.

Head of department of Transfusion medicine, RIMS Dr A Barindra Sharma appreciated and encouraged the blood donors who donated blood when the department is facing shortage of blood during the pandemic, it said.

The release further stated that Tonthoi Laishram also encouraged the voluntary blood donors for donating blood which will be vital in saving the lives of many people. 

The voluntary blood donors were presented with face masks, donor badge and certificates, it added.
