The Tribal Upliftment Centre (TUC) Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, Manipur has appealed to the state government to depute more doctors and deploy adequate numbers of ambulances in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
The TUC highlighted in a release issued on Tuesday the lower ratio of doctors posted in the two districts which have caused great difficulties, especially during this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
The centre also expressed concern over the public not adhering to guidelines to fight against the dreaded coronavirus infection.
TUC appealed to the general public to cooperate with the authority by supporting healthcare workers and by strictly following the guidelines in order to contain the spread of coronavirus in the district, the release added.
PPE donations to Imphal West DC
Meanwhile, to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic better, personal protective equipment (PPE) have been donated to Imphal West deputy commissioner. The donation included PPE suits, face masks, face shields, hand gloves.
The PPE was brought to the Imphal West DC at his office located at Lamphel by the Ken Bag Industry. The company proprietor Longjam Kennedy Singh told media that he has been supporting the activities carried out by the government to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
To defeat the Novel Coronavirus, necessary help will be extended as much as possible, he said. More PPEs and other items will be donated shortly, he assured.
