The notifications for the by-election of five Manipur Assembly Constituencies (ACs) due to be held on November 7 were issued by returning officers of their respective constituencies on Tuesday. The five ACs are Wangoi, Wangjing Tentha, Lilong, Saitu (ST) and Singhat (ST).
According to the notification issued by the returning officers, the nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any of his proposers to the concerned returning officers or to the assistant returning officers at the camp offices of SDOs between 11am and 3pm on or before October 20 (except public holiday).
Nomination paper will be taken up for scrutiny at 11am on October 21 at the camp officer of the concerned SDOs, it said.
The notification further mentioned that the notice of withdrawal of candidate may be delivered either by the candidate or by any of his proposers or by his election agent who has been authorised in writing by the candidate to deliver it before 3pm of October 23.
If the event of the election being contested, the polls will be taken on November 7 between 7am and 5pm, mention the notification.
