Mizoram government to sponsor civil service aspirants

The state government will screen the students for eligibility of the scholarship

The Mizoram government has decided to sponsor students from the state to appear in Indian civil services and other central services. The sponsorship will come in the form of providing expenses of coaching.

This decision was taken during a meeting of the Education department, Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship department, Planning and Finance department and the Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC). The meeting was chaired by chief minister Zoramthanga on Tuesday.

According to an official source, the state government of Mizoram will work with reputed coaching centres so that civil service aspirants from the state can avail the facilities. The state government will screen the students for eligibility of the scholarship. However, it is not clear the maximum number of seats.

The programme to screen the students will be done through the MYC.

The MYC was set up by an Act of the Mizoram State Legislature in 2008. It has been given statutory responsibility for promotion, exploration and embracement of youth welfare
