India's Covid-19 death toll mounts to 1,09,184

Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu have the highest Covid-19 death count in the country.

India's COVID-19 confirmed tally crossed 71 lakh mark, with the report of 68,995 new cases in the past 24 hours, said Union Health Ministry on Monday.

The total number of Covid-19 confirmed cases mounted to 71,20,538, while the death toll rose to 1,09,184 fatalities, according to the latest updates on Monday.The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 61,49,535.

Maharashtra, with 309 deaths in the past 24 hours, still has the highest death count with 40,345 total fatalities till date, followed by Tamil Nadu with 10,252 death toll.

So far, according to ICMR report, the country has tested 9,94,851 samples in the past 24 hours. With it, the cumulative number of samples tested so far is 8,78,72,093.

Meanwhile, the global count of confirmed cases has moved up to 3,73,95,029 cases and the total number of death case now stands at 10,75,750.
