Three foreigners, who were earlier sent to five-day police custody under Foreigners Act and 34 IPC for trying to leave India using fake passports, have been remanded to 15-day judicial custody by Chief Judicial Magistrate(CJM), Imphal West on Friday.

After completion of five-day police custody, the Investigating Officer (IO) of the case along with the three foreigners appeared before the court. The IO prayed for 15-day judicial custody as the passports of the three accused were under verification process at the Regional Passport Office in Guwahati.

Three foreigners – Kamalamohan Nagarajah, Mohamed Fiaz and Alan Sanjil Rjasundaram were charged with forgery and using fake passports, an Aadhar card and entering Manipur without the Protected Area Permit (PAP) under section 468/471 IPC and 14 Foreigners Act read with 188/34 IPC. They were attempting to leave India despite a prohibition imposed by the High Court of Bombay.
