The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mizoram increased to 2,103 as 54 more persons were confirmed positive for the virus on Thursday, official sources said.
Of the new cases, 33 cases are from Lunglei district, of which, 26 are BSF personnel and seven Assam Rifles personnel, one from Mamit, two from Serchhip and 15 cases, including 11 BRO personnel from Lawngtlai district, DIPR Mizoram tweeted on Saturday.
Mizoram now has 344 active cases and 1,759 recovered cases. Two cases have migrated from the state, the DIPR stated.
Aizawl with 181 cases has the maximum active cases in the state, followed by Lunglei with 63 and Lawngtlai with 40 cases. No COVID-19 related death has been reported in the state so far.
