Slow Loris rescued at Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi Forest Division DFO Chinpilhing Kipgen said the animal will be handed over to PFA Thoubal for the time being since it was too young to be released in the wild.

A young endangered Slow Loris was rescued on Saturday at Kangpokpi by jhum cultivators in the jungle and it was handed over to DFO Kangpokpi.

“The cute animal was too young that it only wants to stay with someone holding it. It was very difficult to separate it from anyone holding it”, said a villager.

Kangpokpi Forest Division DFO Chinpilhing Kipgen said the animal will be handed over to PFA Thoubal for the time being since it was too young to be released in the wild.

Meanwhile, DFO Chinpilhing Kipgen also appealed denizens of Kangpokpi and its surrounding to avoid environment destruction and promote protecting the environment in the larger interest of human kind and the endangered animals.
